A Shawnee man was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital Wednesday following a traffic accident on Coker Road, just south of Hardesty Road.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked the accident about 9:41 a.m. Troopers said a 1995 Chevrolet Corsica driven by Rusty Cross, 27, Shawnee, was eastbound from a private drive when he failed to yield to a southbound 2006 Dodge pickup driven by Steven Payne, 22, Tecumseh.
Two Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers were honored Wednesday on the House floor for saving the lives of a Kingfisher couple during flash floods caused by Hurricane Erin last summer.

The answer is for parents to watch the children. Put them to bed at 8 or 9 at night, but that’s not happening. Read the Bible. I don’t know if there’s any answer to this mess. The kids are just running loose.
I agree with the comment regarding the Shawnee Youth Baseball Association and how bad the fields are. There’s got to be something done about this because it involves child safety.

Congratulations you are one of the few within the Shawnee city limits that is aware that there is/was a park dedicated to veterans. My children were almost ready to graduate before I found out what that was.

A professional teacher’s group that promotes nonunion representation in negotiations with school officials about teacher employment said Wednesday that a fourth Oklahoma school district has decertified the Oklahoma Education Association as their representative.
The Strother School District in Seminole County took the action when teachers selected the Strother Professional Association as their bargaining representative, said Ginger Tinney, executive director of Professional Oklahoma Educators, a statewide independent professional association based in Norman.
