Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences is once again offering its Pet Care Seminars, which are open to the public at no charge.
The first seminar will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., in McElroy Hall auditorium on the Stillwater campus.
Dr. Paul DeMars, with Small Animal Community Practice at the OSU Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, will present information on canine influenza. Canine influenza is a viral respiratory infection that is quite contagious. Recently a vaccine has been conditionally released to protect dogs and DeMars will discuss what dog owners need to know.
Pet Care Seminars are open to the public at no charge and are held the first Tuesday of each month during the academic year, excluding December and January. Parking and light refreshments are available.
The OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences is one of 28 veterinary colleges in the United States and is fully accredited by the Council on Education of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
The center’s Boren Veterinary Medial Teaching Hospital is open to the public and provides routine and specialized care for small and large animals. It also offers 24-hour emergency care and is certified by the American Animal Hospital Association. For more information, visit www.cvhs.okstate.edu, or call 405-744-7000.
