SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Hello friends.
What a month April was. 4-H was involved in, and had, some great events.
We started out with the annual Kiwanis Pancake Dinner. 4-H always serves and helps with it. Everyone enjoys working with the Kiwanis Club. They are some of the greatest donors we have, and they help us out with our banquet every year.
There was a large turnout and lots of fun.
The same day, I was able to go up to our state Capitol and represent Pottawatomie County, and the Oklahoma 4-H State Leadership Team as an ambassador.
I met with out exceptional legislators, Sen. Charlie Laster, Rep. Shane Jett and Rep. Kris Steele. I was able to further their knowledge about 4-H and get to know them. They were exceptionally nice and willing with their time.
They are doing a great job up there. Thanks, guys.
Later we had an impressive dress. 4-H members and cloverbuds were able to dress up in their favorite outfit, whether it was their ballet costume, basketball uniform, roping clothes or a historical outfit, and be judged by the speech they gave with it.
Senior record books were sent up to the state level. We were represented very well.
Local clubs have been making cool ties for our troops overseas. They cut fabric, sew it and add crystals to the neck ties, which can warm up or cool down a soldier. This is one project we take a lot of pride in doing.
As you can see, we have been very busy and will continue to be. Join us in planting our gardens for the county fair.
Until next time, have a great day.
