Dr. Scott Thomas Shepherd and Sarah Elizabeth McCullough Luthey of Tulsa were united in marriage May 31, 2008, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Tulsa. Rev. Joseph C. Alsay officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dean and Debbie Luthey of Tulsa.
She is the granddaughter of Dr. Gerald and Marilyn McCullough of Norman and Graydon and Anne Luthey of Tulsa.
The groom is the son of Tom and Gaye Shepherd of Shawnee. He is the grandson of the late Ned and Imogene Parry and the late C.L. and Betty Shepherd.
The bride wore a designer gown by Melissa Sweet in Italian silk satin. The strapless gown featured a sculptured, shirred neckline and the bodice was wrapped with tucked silk finished at the back with a duet of bows cascading to a semi-cathedral train. The bride’s lace veil also was worn by her mother at her wedding.
The maid of honor was Tulsa resident Katie Luthey, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Melanie Clouse, Amanda Neeley and Steffany Steinmetz, all of Tulsa, and Julianne Sutton of Austin, Texas.
The groom wore a premier peak tuxedo from Calvin Klein accented with a white bow tie and pink suspenders.
The best man was Kingsville, Texas, resident Lt. j.g. Adam Shepherd, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Jake Rowden of Gretna, La., Clark Rucker of Austin, Texas, Dr. Ryan Seals of Edmond, and Nick Trotter of Keller, Texas.
Ushers were Dr. Steven Dyer of Owasso, Aaron Papermaster of Austin, Texas, Greg Shepherd of Perryton, Texas, and Johnathan Shepherd of Shawnee.
Musicians were Casey Cantwell on the organ and Stephen Goforth on the trumpet.
The reader was Leigh McCarley of New York City, N.Y.
A house party was hosted by Ann Quint of Tulsa and Madison tenKate of Midlothian, Va.
The couple had a reception at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa. They had their honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii.
The couple lives in Tulsa where the groom is a first-year resident in Internal Medical/Pediatrics and the bride is a fourth-year medical student at Oklahoma State University College of Medicine.
