SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Area residents are welcome to the grand opening of the Meeker Historical Museum at 10 a.m. Saturday in the new facility located at Carl Hubbel Boulevard next to city hall.

The  museum will house local memorabilia including military, household, farm and business items to reflect the past of the Meeker community. Items of significance include an old fire truck, a stained glass window from the old Presbyterian Church and an examination table of Dr. L. Ralph Bell, who practiced medicine in Meeker from 1940 to 1975.
