Longtime educator Tracy Jacomo, of Seminole, is a firm believer in mammograms. Jacomo grew up learning about and coping with the challenges of breast cancer when her mother was diagnosed at the age of 54. Jacomo said a friend of her mom’s also had the disease. Both ladies won their battle with cancer. However, 15 years later, Jacomo’s mother faced cancer again –– only that time it took her life.
