Gwendolyn Elaine Taiclet-King, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at her home. She was 52.


Gwendolyn Elaine Taiclet-King, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at her home. She was 52.
Gwen was born August 4, 1955 in Ponca City, the daughter of Jack J. Taiclet and Donna Mae (Driggers) Taiclet. She was a 1973 graduate of Ponca City High School and completed course work through the Pioneer Vo-Tech Center. She was employed for several years as an assistant editor and reporter for the Shawnee Sun Newspaper. Her enjoyments included cross stitch, card making, stamp collecting, scrapbooking, photography, music, camping and the outdoors.
She is survived by her parents, Jack and Donna Taiclet, Newton, Kansas; four children, Amanda Shilling and husband, Steven, Cottonwood, Arizona, Michael Allen and wife, Jennifer, Edmond, Oklahoma, Zack King, Shawnee, Oklahoma and Jeremy King; two brothers, Shane Taiclet, San Angelo, Texas and Tracy Taiclet, Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Terri Wilkins, Boise, Idaho, Kari Butler, Meridian, Idaho and Sharon Taiclet, Newton, Kansas; three grandchildren, Corbin, Caden and Haley Allen; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Hunter Allen.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Memorial Chapel. Honorary casket bearers will be Michael Allen, Zack King, Shane Taiclet, Tracy Taiclet, Dewayne Driggers and Jack Taiclet.
