Horses that were taken from a Norman man who's accused of abusing the animals have been returned to the man.

Leslie Paul Lambeth is charged in Cleveland County District Court with three felony counts of animal cruelty for allegedly not feeding or providing veterinary care for three horses.

The animals were taken after police went to his property in March for an animal welfare check. They were sent to a private ranch to recover but police say they've been returned to Lambeth by a court order.

Police Maj. Jim Maisano says the animals are subject to periodic veterinary inspection and animal control officers haven't been notified of any problems since their return.
