The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art in Shawnee is holding four arts camps for youth this summer beginning Monday. Following are the camps:
• June 2-6, Theatre Camp: This session will focus on theater and stage performance. It will be led by Nathan Hollis, a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University.
• June 18-20, Renaissance Camp: Oklahoma professional educator Patrick Riley will lead these sessions on the grandeur of Renaissance art.
• July 7 -11, Mask Making Camp: Participants will learn about different types of masks and the cultures they come from. The camp is led by Clay Little, museum preparator, and Lacy Abbott, after-school art coordinator.
• July 21-25, World of Color Camp: Youth will explore the infinite possibilities of colors and the way they complement each other. They will practice color theory by creating paintings, mosaics and sculptures. The camp is led by Little and Abbott.
The camps run at different times according to age of participants. The cost varies according to number of camps and museum membership.
