People interested in running for office in Lincoln and Seminole counties can file beginning Monday.
Offices to be filled this year in Lincoln and Seminole counties are court clerk, county clerk, county sheriff and District 2 county commissioner. Lincoln County also will fill the District 1 county commissioner seat for a two-year unexpired term.
The filing period runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and people should file at the election board office of their home county. Those interested in filing for state offices need to file with the secretary of the State Election Board.
Filing papers must be notarized, but the election board office does not provide a notary public. Notary publics are in the Lincoln County Courthouse in Chandler and the Seminole County Courthouse in Wewoka.
