Shawnee resident Bill Claborn went home to be with Jesus, Friday, May 30, 2008, at the age of 81.
He was born Oct. 16, 1926 in Seminole to John and Jewel Claborn.
Bill lived most of his life in Shawnee. He and his wife, Jean, had returned after living 26 years in Port Aransas and San Antonio, Texas. Bill was currently Minister of Music at Wallace Ave. Baptist Church in Shawnee.
Bill and his wife had been in music evangelism for 40 years. He was a veteren of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Richard; and his daughter Jaci Claborn Trumbly.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; son, Robert; daughter Rebecca; two grandsons, Joseph and James Mark Trumbly; brother, John Claborn; sister, Jelessa Blagg; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
There will be a celebration of his life 7 p.m. Monday at Wallace Ave. Baptist Church, 601 W. Wallace, in Shawnee, with Pastor J.D. Cunningham officiating.
There will be no graveside services.
