In response to Donna Schoenkopf’s letter on global warming, I urge the readers to look up www.petitionproject.com. In it they will find the signatures and qualifications of more than 31,000 scientists who directly refute the hypothesis of man-made global warming. Among these 31,000 scientists are more than 9,000 with Ph.D.s in various disciplines, including almost 3,700 of whom hold degrees in atmospheric, earth and environmental sciences. The rest hold chemistry, biology, physics, agricultural science, math, medical and general science degrees. There are more Ph.D. scientists who have signed this petition than there are total scientists who signed on to the UN’s IPCC protocol.
As for Al Gore and his “Inconvenient Truth,” a British judge documented nine untruths in the movie and others have documented as many as 35 untruths in the movie. Among them are that polar bears are dying; the polar bear population has increased from 5,000 in 1971 to 25,000 currently. His assertion that severe tornadoes are occurring more frequently is patently false. While tornado reporting has increased because of better detection capabilities, frequency of severe tornadoes has actually been decreasing for 50 years. Al calls carbon dioxide “pollution.” CO2 is the natural product of respiration and an essential nutrient for plant growth. CO2 concentration does not drive temperature change; temperature change drives CO2 concentration. The largest repository of CO2 is the ocean. As the atmosphere heats and cools, CO2 is released or driven back into solution.
The last problem with the entire global warming hoax is the money. All of the people pushing the hoax have a personal stake in pulling it off. Al Gore’s hedge fund is invested in green technologies; the new green NBC network is owned by GE, which happens to be the largest manufacturer of so-called green technologies. Both Al and GE stand to make billions of dollars if they can pull this hoax over on us. For those of you who still believe man-made CO2 is driving global warming, I have a suggestion how you can personally make an immediate difference in CO2 production. Hold your breath.
