An agriculture pesticide container and battery recycling day is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Chandler.
Appropriate and cleaned containers can be taken to the pavilion area, or may be dropped off at the Lincoln County District No. 1 barn in Stroud during normal business hours July 31 through Aug. 5. Gateway Agricultural Supply in Prague also will accept containers during that time.
Car, tractor, truck and lawn mower batteries (lead acid only) will be accepted at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds and Gateway Agricultural Supply in Prague on Aug. 5 only.
Acceptable items include 1-gallon, 2.5-gallon, 30-gallon and 55-gallon plastic pesticide containers. Containers must be empty, clean (triple-rinsed) and dry. Stained containers are acceptable, but household chemical containers are not.
Container caps cannot be recycled and must be removed and disposed of as normal solid waste. Shrink-wrapped or glued-on container labels do not need to be removed, but label booklets or pamphlets must be removed.
