Private Mickey J. Broyles has joined the Army Reserve, and  he graduated from basic training July 3, at the Field Artillery Training Center at Fort Sill where he learned skills, including rifle handling and shooting, grenade use and assorted man-to-man combat skills. He is a member of the Fort Sill Platoon, Charlie Battery, 1st Batallion, 79th Field Artillery unit.

Broyles is the son of Guy and Lora Broyles of Tecumseh and the grandson of Sylvia Broyles of Shawnee.
He is a 2007 graduate of Tecumseh High School.
Broyles left July 4, for Fort Lee, Va., where he is studying to be a petroleum specialist. He will graduate AIT in mid-September and will return home to fulfill his duties for the U.S. Army Reserves.
