Oklahoma Baptist finished ninth at the NAIA Men’s Golf Championship

Friday at TPC Deere Run.

OBU had its best finish in the national tournament and its first two All-Americans.

Chase Lindsey finished strong, shooting one under for the round at 70. He birdied holes one, three, four, 10, 14 and 18 and finished up in a tie for 13th place at 297.

The top 15 golfers are awarded First Team All-America status.

Xavier Diana had a 77 for the round and Arnaud Cotton and Clement Batut both shot 78. Alex Hamilton finished up with an 80.
Diana, Hamilton and Batut had one birdie each, while Cotton had two. Diana finished in a tie for 25th place with his four-round 302, and is a Second Team All-American.
Batut ended in a tie for 58th with a 310, while Hamilton was in a tie for 69th at 312 and Cotton was tied for 81st at 318.
The Bison finished at 1,217, just one stroke out of eighth place.
Oklahoma Christian won the team title with an 1,181, edging Texas Wesleyan by four strokes. Oklahoma City was fourth at 1,195 and Wayland Baptist was 12th at 1,224.
OBU’s previous best finish was 11th in the 1972 tournament.
Sam Cyr of Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) won the individual title with a 282.
