Oklahoma Baptist University recently named Jayme Boyer of Shawnee and Josh Collazo of Tampa, Fla., as its outstanding senior athletes for 2008-09.


Oklahoma Baptist University recently named Jayme Boyer of Shawnee and Josh Collazo of Tampa, Fla., as its outstanding senior athletes for 2008-09.
A four-year player for the Lady Bison softball team, Boyer recently played in her 213th consecutive game to set an OBU record. She also owns every home-run record with 17 in a season, 46 in her career and three in one game.
She is a four-time all-conference catcher and was Sooner Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year, a first-team All-American and Diamond Sports NAIA Catcher of the Year in 2007. In addition to her home run records, she holds the season and career records for walks, career hits and career runs scored. She is the daughter of Todd and Dana Boyer.
A two-year starter and all-conference first baseman, Collazo set the single-season record for home runs last season with 22 and broke it this year with 24. He also set the record with 100 runs batted in and 79 runs scored in a season last year. He was SAC Player of the Year and the Gold Glove winner at first base, as well as a first-team NAIA All-American last season.
