Twenty-two high schools are slated to be represented Friday night at the 14th annual Wrangler Football Bowl at Seminole High School’s Chieftain Stadium.


Twenty-two high schools are slated to be represented Friday night at the 14th annual Wrangler Football Bowl at Seminole High School’s Chieftain Stadium.
The host South squad features nine schools and 32 players, headed by Seminole with nine. Coach Mike Snyder’s Chieftains will be represented by Myron Barnes, Justin Lena, Tyler Hobbs, Tyler Richardson, Chad McÅlvain, Josh Torres, Cody Johnson, Austin Thomas and Zach Toney.
Konawa has five players on the South roster while Wewoka and Sasakwa will send four apiece. Coalgate and Noble will have three representatives apiece while Ada and Bowlegs have two each. Stratford has one player.
Konawa’s coaching staff will be responsible for the South coaching duties.
Thirteen schools, headed by Shawnee and Harrah with five apiece, comprise the 34-player North roster.
Four Wellston names dot the roster while Little Axe, Okemah and Meeker have three apiece. Other schools represented on the North are Stroud (2), Depew (2), Okmulgee (2), Bristow (2), Prague (1), Bethel (1) and Tecumseh (1).
Players from coach Billy Brown’s Shawnee squad are Jordan Robbins, Devin Leitka, Jordan McLain, Nick Carter and Jon Carter.
Meeker’s coaching staff will guide the North squad.
All proceeds from the game go to the Seminole Footall Booster Club.
In last year’s matchup, Tecumseh quarterback Daniel Judkins rushed for 81 yards and passed for 85 as the North prevailed 28-12. The North led 12-0 after one quarter and 20-0 at the half.
The South took the 2007 contest, 23-0.
All proceeds go to the Seminole Football Booster Club. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
“These are probably the fullest squads we’ve ever had,” Seminole head football coach Mike Snyder said. “We are excited about some of these kids getting to play football one final time.”
The kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
