The Friday opening of the municipal pool at Woodland Veteran’s Park was deemed a success, Josh Holman, aquatics director, said.

“We had about 25 people right off the bat,” Holman said. “We’ve been steadily picking up ever since.”

Holman said the pool, which was completely filled earlier in the week, saw only one adult visitor in the first hours of being open.

“It’s been almost all kids,” Holman said.

Sales of season passes have also been good so far, Holman said.
“We’ve sold close to 40 season passes and still have 200 available until July or whenever we run out,” he said.
The cost for the water aerobics sessions was also established recently, Holman said.
Water aerobics cost $20 and are held from 6:40 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from June 8 until September.
Lap swim is available from 10 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday; swim lessons are available 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
General pool hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Admission for infants - those who cannot walk - is free. Admission for YMCA members is $2 per day or $30 for a season pass.
Admission is $3 for children 5 and younger and $4 for ages 6 and older. Those without YMCA memberships may purchase a season pass for $50.
