The Faith 7 contest between the Texas and Oklahoma all-stars is slated for 7:35 p.m. Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist’s Noble Complex.
Included among the Texas roster are two Oklahoma State signees and one soon-to-be Oklahoma Sooner.
Headed for OSU are two Duncanville products in guard Reger D. Dowell and Roger Franklin.
Franklin, at 6-foot-4-inch, was part of a 39-0 state championship squad in 2006. Last year, he averaged 18 points and nine rebounds.
Griffin, from Houston Madison High School, was an All-State guard after averaging 23.7 points, 5.5 assists and 3.2 steals. Selected as the Most Valuable Player of his district, he scored 49 points in one game this season.
Two other Lone Star State representatives are headed to fellow Big 12 Conference schools. Aaron Michael Davis, 6-3 of Wheatley, will take his 55 percent field-goal shooting to Texas Tech, while Nick Russell of Grace Prep will don a Kansas State uniform.
Russell earned first-team All-State honors.
Also scheduled to represent Texas are Javier Carter, 6-8, Parish Episcopal, and signee of South Alabama; Derek Johnson, 6-7, Woodlands Christian, Evansville; Kevin Perry, 6-6, Westbury Christian, Texas El-Paso and Justin Wesley, 6-8, North Crowley, Lamar University.
