The Dale Lady Pirates took care of business in their Class 2A district opener Friday night, dishing out a 46-14 domination of Dibble at Dale High School.


The Dale Lady Pirates took care of business in their Class 2A district opener Friday night, dishing out a 46-14 domination of Dibble at Dale High School.
The Lady Pirates struggled from the floor (19-of-66) but it didn’t matter on this night.
Breck Clark and Kendra Steward led the Dale offense, scoring 18 and 12 respectively. Nine other Lady Pirates scored in the blowout. Dale opened up a 13-2 advantage after the first quarter and never looked back.
Katherine Weatherby of Dale led all players with 10 rebounds and six steals.
The Lady Pirates of coach Josh Forsythe, 20-4, will play host to Christian Heritage at 6:30 tonight for the district title. The two teams met earlier in the season and Dale came away with a 57-52 victory.
Dale’s boys will also be looking for a district title tonight. The Pirates advanced to the 8 p.m. final with a bye in Thursday’s opening round. Dale will play the winner of Friday night’s Dibble-Christian Heritage game at 8 p.m.
