By the intermission, the second-ranked Lady Wildcats had a 61-6 lead en route to an 88-9 devastation.
Despite no Bethel starters playing in the third quarter, the Lady Wildcats still outscored the visitors 19-0.
All 13 players employed by Johnson scored, with starter Taylor Cooper leading the way with 21 points. She hit 5 of 7 field goals, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Teammate Sami Martin connected on 50 percent (2-of-4) of her shots from beyond the 3-point line in finishing with 10 points.
McKenzie Cooper, who also had 10 points, sank all three of her shots from the floor.
From 2-point range, Bethel was 20-of-36. The Lady Wildcats were red-hot from 3-point range at 15-of-28.
Johnson’s squad was 4-of-6 from the free throw line.
Bethel, 21-2 on the season, advances to regional action Thursday at 6:30 p.m. against either Oklahoma City Centennial or Crooked Oak.
In Friday night’s district nightcap, Bethel’s boys rambled to a 76-59 triumph over Astec to up their record to 9-13.
Jason Radomski of Bethel was the game’s leading scorer with 23 points. Teammate Collin Wilborn nailed three shots from 3-point range in finishing with 15 points. Bethel’s Seth Sawyer collected 14 points.
In the second half, Bethel hit 88.2 percent (15-of-17) of its free throws. For the game, the Wildcats were 15-of-19.
Bethel will collide with either Centennial or Crooked Oak at 8 p.m. Thursday at Bethel in a winners bracket game.
