Michael Tiffin lost his bid for the Class 4A regional championship at 160 pounds, but will live to hit the mats at the upcoming state tournament at the OKC Fairgrounds.
Tiffin dropped a 7-3 decision to Dylan Coppenbarger of Tuttle in the championship match held on Saturday,
Tiffin will be joined in the “Big House” by teammates Brent McCormick and Josh Mouser. McCormick bested Coulten Parker of Piedmont 7-0 in the 112-pound consolation title match while Mouser lost his final match to 119 pound Jared Vanvickle of Bristow by major decsion, 13-5. The top four finishers in the regional earn state berths.
Tecumseh will also be represented next weekend. Ryland Hausam pinned Dylan DeLuca of Elgin at 3:55 to win the 152-pound consolation title.
