A Harrah toddler was critically injured in an ATV accident Wednesday in Lincoln County.
The accident occurred about 3:43 p.m. on 1040 Road, about one-half mile east of Pinecrest, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Julie Ann Walker, 27, Harrah, was driving a Polaris ATV westbound on the county road when a passenger, Olivia Walker, 3, Harrah, removed herself from the seat and moved to the floorboard, distracting the driver, the OHP said.
The ATV went off the roadway and came to rest against a tree, troopers said.
Julie Walker was not injured, the patrol’s report shows. Olivia Walker, along with passenger Emily Walker, 1, also of Harrah, were both taken by Medi Flight helicopter ambulance to OU Medical Center, the OHP said.
Olivia Walker had minor injuries to her head, trunk and extremities, but was not admitted to the hospital. The OHP said Emily Walker suffered internal trunk injuries and was admitted in critical condition.
According to Trooper Kyle Winrow’s report, seat belts were in use by Julie Walker, but not the passengers.
Inattention was listed as cause of the accident on the gravel two-lane roadway.
Trooper Winrow was assisted at the scene by the Lincoln County sheriff’s office.
