Second-ranked Prague led from start to finish Thursday night in blitzing Purcell, 60-28, in a Class 3A regional winners bracket contest.
Prague, 23-1, received four 3-pointers from Heather Farrill, who finished with a game-high 19 points. Brooke Watkins and Danielle Morgan chipped in with 10 apiece for coach Jay Depanion, who emptied his bench.
“Defensively, we really played a good game and everyone contributed,” Depanion said.
Prague was 7-of-12 from the line and Purcell was 6- of-11.
Prague will take on Sulphur at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Purcell. Sulphur knocked off Washington Thursday.
Behind Darnell Embry’s perfect 11-of-11 outing at the free throw line, Prague’s boys registered a 64-40 defeat of Lexington in another regional winners bracket contest.
Embry scored 13 points in the first half en route to dishing out a game-high 19 for the Red Devils (20-4), who will face the Washington-Sulphur winner at 8 p.m. Saturday at Purcell.
Prague’s usual leading scorer, Ethan Oldham, got into foul trouble and came away with nine points. Teammate Chatman Laxton also added nine, and Gavin Depanion posted eight.
“Our bench really stepped up and played good,” said Prague coach David Day.
