Host Oklahoma Christian owned a Sooner Athletic Conference doubleheader Thursday, sweeping St. Gregory’s with a 69-63 women’s final and an 80-57 men’s final.
The Lady Cavaliers — who led 31-21 at halftime — hit just 38.7 percent (24-of-62) of their field goals, including a 6-of-22 effort from behind the 3-point line. Leticia Silva hit four of her five shots from the free throw line as SGU finished at 9-of-13 in that category.
Jalisa Howard’s game-high 24 points and 11 rebounds went for naught as the Lady Cavs dropped to 6-22 overall and 2-19 in the SAC. It was SGU’s seventh consecutive loss. Silva and teammate Heather Anderson finished with 12 points each.
Katy Clift paced OC (14-15, 8-13 SAC) with 20 points. The hosts hit 39 percent (23-of-59) of their field goals.
St. Gregory’s men trailed 41-26 at the break and finished the contest with a 39.7-percent effort from the floor. Leading scorer Fayzon Richey canned the Cavaliers’ lone trey and came up with a game-high 23 points. Richey was 9-of-18 from the field.
Jeff Crocker scored 16 points to lead OC (17-11, 11-10 SAC), and the Eagles finished at 39.5 percent (30-of-76) from the field.

The loss was SGU’s 12th in a row and dropped the Cavaliers to 5-20 overall and 2-19 in the conference. St. Gregory’s will play its last regular-season game Saturday at home opposite Northwestern Oklahoma State. The women’s game will start at 6 p.m., followed by the men’s game.
