The annual Boo on Bell Halloween celebration will take place in downtown Shawnee on Oct. 28 and 29. There are a ton of events for the whole family.

It Was A Very Scary Night @ the Ritz Theater – Come enjoy this truly magical comedic theater event. Designed for the entire family packed with puppets, comedy and much more. Cost of this event is $7.00 for Adult, Senior Citizens and Children $5.00. Show starts at 7:00. Show duration is 1 hour.
Silver Screams – The Historical Retail District becomes home to many of your favorite scary horror movies. See if you can live till the very end.
Ghost Hunting 101 – Join ESP on a paranormal journey as you see how an actual ghost investigation is conducted. See what tools of the trade are used.
Witches Night Out Sales – 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Come and join Historical Retail District Merchants as they open their doors after hours for some truly frightening sales.
Haunted Carriage Rides – 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM Come and make a family night out in the Historical Retail District. Have dinner at one of the many café’s in the area then take a ride through the Historical Retail District – see if you can catch a glimpse of past spirits. Then catch a show at the Hornbeck, Ritz or even one of the Ghost Tours. A truly magic and spook-tacular good time to be had by all.
MACABRE THEATRE – 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
This event is sponsored by SEFF Inc. Come and enjoy live entertainment such as Eric King, Higher Ground and others. Come and enjoy live music, dancing and much, much more. Entertainment provided local area entertainers. This event is located in the Sleepy Hollow Main Stage area located on Bell. This event is free and open to the public.
BOO FUN RUN/WALK/CRAWL/STAGGER – 10:00 AM
This event is hosted by OBU Nursing Students. Did you know that Oklahoma ranks number 47 in healthy people and we rank number 48 in cardiovascular health? Come and join this fun run/walk/crawl/stagger and learn more about what this group has in store for the health of Pott. County.
FRANKENMUTT HOWL-O-WEEN PET COSTUME CONTEST – 10:00 AM
Some dogs give you that look when you dress them up. You know the one. It says, “With all I do for you, this how you repay me.” Well, despite any possible pet trepidation, these are always a lot of fun. Which pet will take home the prize in the Howl-o-ween costume contest? You’ll just have to wait and see. This event will take place at Main & Bell. There is a five dollar entry fee for this event. Monies raised will be given to a local pet rescue.
NOTE: All dogs must have current vaccinations and rabies shots. All participants must sign waiver. All dogs must be on LEASH at all times. Female dogs in any state of heat will not be allowed to participate. Event officials reserve the right to refuse entry to aggressive animals.
SCARY, SCARY ART – 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
This truly monstrous event is sponsored by SEFF. Let your little ghouls and goblins get their art on! There is no charge for this event and is open to the public.

Name the era, and there will probably be an automobile in representation of it. Check out cars from nearly every decade and pick your favorite. This event will take place in Woodland Park. Winners will be featured in the Boo-Rade @ 5:00. There is no charge to attend this event and is open to the public.
BOO-TIQUE CRAFT and GIFT EMPORIUM – 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Come shop with us at our Boo-tique Craft and Gift Emporium. The Boo-tique and Gift Emporium is located near the Twilight Zone on Bell Street. This event is free and open to the public.
SCARY MOVIE – Sponsored by Jones Theatres
Jones Theatres, Inc. will again join in the fun this year offering movie goers a Halloween Movie during Boo on Bell. Title of the movie will be released at a later date. Cost is $1.50. Check local listing for show times.

CONEY ISLAND HOT DOG EATING CONTEST – 1:00 PM
How many delicious Coney Island Dogs can you hold? Coney Island is hosting our second annual Hot Dog Eating Contest. There will be a Grand Champion emerging from this group. This event is free and opened to the public.
BOO BINGO – 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Come and play bingo under the stars and try to win some fabulous prizes. Boo Bingo is located between Zombie Island and Twilight Zone Carnival Area just off of Bell.
AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE – 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
New this year – come and give the gift of life. Help Dracula and his team fill the blood banks to help other Oklahoman’s. Donations will take place at NAPA Auto Store located on Bell Avenue.
MONSTER MASH COSTUME CONTEST – 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
There are several categories that include Children, Teen & Family. Prizes will be awarded in each division. This event will take place at stage area located in the Twilight Zone. This event is free and open to the public.
PUMPKINVILLE MAIN STREET TRICK OR TREAT – 3:30 – 5:00 PM
This event is sponsored by Historical Retail District Shawnee Merchants, SEFF Inc., local area banks and other area wide merchants. This event is free and open to the public. Children ages 12 and under can trick-or-treat at participating downtown merchants. Trail is approximately three blocks long. This event will take place starting at Broadway and Main and will continue to Oklahoma and Main and will include a small part of Bell Avenue. This event is free and open to the public.
MAYOR PUMPKINHEADS MAGICAL MYSTICAL BOO-RADE – 5:00 PM
New this year is the time change! The Magical Mystical Boo-rade will come alive this year at night! This event will take place on Main Street. So come and Mayor Pumpkin Head, Ms. Candy Corn, Glenda the Good Witch and The Wicked Witch will be on hand. Parade will start at the Santa Fe Depot and will turn back Seventh Street at Broadway. This event is free and open to the public.
JACK-O-LANTERN CONTEST – 6:00 PM
Wicked grins that light the night, eerie eyes that seem to stare back at you. New this year to Boo on Bell is our Jack-O-Lantern contest. All entries will accepted as early as 3:00 PM with a 5:00 PM cut off time for all entries. At 6:00 all entries will be lighted and judged. A “people’s favorite” category will be available. Entry is free for this event and opened to the public. All entries must come decorated or carved – no carving or decoration is to be done at event.
TWILIGHT ZONE - THE CARNIVAL - 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
This year the two islands become one! Entrance to the event will be off Bell Avenue at the Community Marketplace. This event is sponsored by SEFF Inc. Play all your favorite carnival games. Each booth is run by a separate non-profit organization, raising money for a number of worthy causes. Come play the many “old-fashion” carnival games, come see what Twilight has to offer.
HAYRIDE – 4:00 PM
C&H Carriage Rides sponsors this event. Take a ride down historical Bell Street nestled in a bed of hay for a fall fun ride around the downtown area.

Hosted this year by Shawnee High School Drama Department– This all new trail has your experiencing exciting tales from the Silver Screen. Come and join us on this dark and sinister journey into horror movies from the past as you stroll along19th century buildings in the downtown historical district. Tours will start at Seventh and Bell at dark. Cost for the tours is as follows: Child admission is $4.00 and Adult admission is $6.00. This event may be too intense for smaller children. Adult discretion recommended.
GHOST TOUR – 6:30 PM
Come and join Exploring Spirit Phenomenon as they share with you what evidence they captured on one of their many investigation of one of Shawnee’s most haunted buildings. The Anderson Building located on the corner of Bell and Main. Many strange occurrences have taken place. Tours will start at dark. Cost for the tour is as follows: Child admission is $4.00 and Adult admission is $6.00. This event will be in the dark, please bring flashlights, audio devices and cameras. Event may be too intense for smaller children. Adult discretion recommended.

Feast on items such Indian Tacos, Fried Twinkies, BBQ, Burgers, Funnel Cakes, and etc. Everyone is sure to find something they will enjoy. The food court is located off Main on Bell Street.
