Newson had TD runs of 1 and 3 yards and was joined by a solid rushing effort out of Papi White, who gained 62 yards on only five carries and added a 1-yard scoring run.

Seminole, which improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in District 3A-8, received a 23-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Clark to Kade Davis in the opening quarter.

The Chieftains finished with 243 yards of total offense in the game, including 212 in the rushing department.

Seminole’s defense limited the Warriors to minus-9 yards of total offense. Idabel had negative-28 yards on the ground and managed only 19 through the air.

The Warriors also lost four fumbles as Lane King, Quinton Newson, Trey Ervin and Seth Tremble each made the recoveries for the Chieftains.

Idabel fell to 3-5 and 2-3.

Seminole hits the road for the final two games of the regular season, visiting Hugo next Friday night and playing at Eufaula on Nov. 4.
