Some are prospering these days if they are fortunate enough to know the right people and be in the right business. Products for the ballyhooed “green energy” business continue to make the headlines. Green energy means switching from fossil fueled electric generators to nature’s own wind and sun. It sounds good but is it practical? The pursuit of the so-called green energy venture has cost the nation of Spain plenty.

Spain is broke. The people of Spain ended up paying 11 times more for their “green energy” produced electricity than they were paying for conventional (fossil) produced energy. The Obama administration seems to be sold on green energy product producers.

If it is not working out too well for Spain, why is our government spending money we don’t have on something that was not successful? $535 million here and $737 million there and pretty soon you are talking about real money.

I read an article in Newsmax Wednesday that really showed the height of cronyism by the Obama administration. We have guaranteed another loan amounting to $737 million to another green energy product company. This grant went to Tonopah Solar Energy, a subsidiary of SolarReserve.

The article stated: One of SolarReserve’s major financial backers is the PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund (East) whose second in command is Ronald Pelosi, the brother-in-law of Nancy Pelosi. What happened to Spain as they tried to switch to green energy hasn’t seemed to faze Obama.

Furthermore, I doubt he is embarrassed that the whole world knows that Nancy Pelosi and Ronald Pelosi are related. Would you call that incestuous cronyism? Why is Obama funding private industry that is far from a sure thing? Could be he wants to keep his word? He told everybody before he was elected president that anyone using electricity produced by coal fired generators would necessarily see their electric bills skyrocket.

Switching to green energy (wind and solar) because of climate change will no longer stand the strain of public opinion. We are now exporting 4 million tons of coal to China. China now burns half of the six billion tons of coal used globally each year.  I guess because China is the one who actually burns coal that our politicians feel like they have piously taken the high ground to save planet earth.
