Conference volleyball win at Oklahoma City University Friday.
The Lady Bison left the Freede Center with a 25-11, 27-25, 25-17 victory with 37 kills, eight team blocks and three aces as the Stars committed 29 attack errors and were held to a .031 attack percentage.
Tarah Derden had four blocks and Kristin Pressley and Skyler Strahm threw in three each in the win.
Kristin Pressley led with 15 kills and Sabra Clark had 31 assists. Came Weimer had two aces and 20 digs, while Clark added a dozen digs for a double-double.
In the first set, OBU had a slim 7-5 lead before getting a 10-2 run that started with a block and two kills by Derden and ended with both of Weimer’s aces.
The second set saw OCU rally to a 24-22 lead before OBU got consecutive kills by Strahm, Pressley and Tasha White for a 25-24 Lady Bison lead. After an Alex Benbrook kill for the Stars, OBU ended the revolt with a kill by Strahm and an ace by Kyleigh Mitchell.
The third set saw OBU break open an 12-11 set with a 5-0 run that included three kills by Pressley.
With the win, the Lady Bison need to take just two of the four remaining Sooner Athletic Conference matches to clinch the home court advantage for the SAC Tournament next month.
Now 24-9 overall and 10-0 in the SAC, the Lady Bison step out of conference for a match at Arkansas-Fort Smith Tuesday before hosting Lubbock Christian Oct. 28 and Wayland Baptist Oct. 29.
