After starting the season 1-7, OBU has rolled off a 5-2-1 SAC record and is in the hunt for a host berth in the postseason tournament.
The Lady Bison got on the board first with a goal by Courtney Anderson in the ninth minute. It was Anderson’s 10th goal of the season and fifth game-winner.
Carley Sell got the ball to Elisa Brito, who buried a second goal in the 12th minute for a 2-0 lead. For Brito, it was goal No. 8 on the year on Sell’s first assist.
Nineteen minutes into the second half, Rylea Wallace scored her fourth goal with help from Anderson and Marta Venegas for a 3-0 lead.
Nicol Lagos scored the fourth goal of the game and her first of the season, getting an assist from Brito in the 70th minute.
Amanda Vinsant finalized the scoring with a goal, using an assist from Lauren Lartigue in the 76th minute. It was the second goal of the year for Vinsant.
OBU out-shot Northwestern 20-8 and put 10 shots on goal.
In addition to the goals, the Lady Bison had two shots on goal by Lagos and one each by Anderson, Kariny Delahaye and Mackenzie Bruton.
Shannon Griffith turned away four shots in goal for OBU.
Now 6-8-1 on the season, the Lady Bison host John Brown Wednesday.
