Gordon Cooper Technology Center Aviation Maintenance students recently worked in teams to disassemble an aircraft engine, inspect the engine for manufacturer’s tolerances and clearances, write a report about each engine component, reassemble and test the engine and paint the engine with a creative theme.

A contest was held among the teams.

The first place team included Kenneth White, Prague; Richard Powell, Earlsboro; Jeremiah Lockhart, Shawnee; and Eric Slaughter, Seminole.

The paint theme for the team’s Lycoming IO-320 engine was “Rat Fink Rat Rod”.

The GCTC Aviation Maintenance Campus is at Shawnee Airport.
