Escalating health care costs and declining coverage are big issues facing small businesses and their employees.

Substantial changes in the way health care is delivered nationwide are coming during the next few years through The Affordable Health Care Act, sometimes referred to as Obamacare.

A workshop entitled “The Affordable Health Care Act – Implications for Small Businesses” is set at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 in the Skylab I meeting room at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center main campus, Interstate 40 and SH 18. The workshop is sponsored by Finley & Cook Certified Public Accountants and Gordon Cooper Technology Center. The workshop is provided at no cost to participants.

Richard Finley of Finley & Cook will discuss the Affordable Health Care Act and ways the legislation affects businesses, employees and the bottom line. Workshop topics include: Implementation timelines, small business tax credits, and Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) exchanges.
