Francis Evelyn Munday, 88, of Shawnee, passed away Oct. 30, 2011, at her Shawnee home surrounded by loved ones.


Francis Evelyn Munday, 88, of Shawnee, passed away Oct. 30, 2011, at her Shawnee home surrounded by loved ones.
She was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Moscow, Tenn., to Marvin and Lelia Beal. Her family moved to Shawnee when she was 4 years old. She attended Washington Grade School and Shawnee High School.
Evelyn married the love of her life, Harry Lee Munday, on Feb. 14, 1940, and spent 70 wonderful years with him, enjoying life to its fullest. Together they were blessed with a daughter whom she loved dearly and were later blessed with two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren who will always remember the amazing love that their Granny showed for them. Family was her greatest joy in life. She also enjoyed growing and tending to her beautiful flowers, raising toy poodles, and collecting antiques. She could always find beauty in everything around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Harry Lee; brother, Marvin Beal; and two sisters, Lorene Partlow and Gladys Brown.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Roe and husband, Don; her sister, Maxine Marshall; two grandsons, Gary Roe and wife, Teresa, Mike Roe and wife, Dana; four great-grandsons, Cody Roe and wife, Karina, Kendal Roe, Brandon Roe, and Cory Roe; one great-granddaughter, Christy Clifford and husband, Aaron; two great-great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Kinley Clifford; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Loving Care Hospice nursing staff for their compassion and loving care as well as many family members and friends for their generosity and kindness.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Nov. 1, at Resthaven Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
