The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced that Megan Nicole Short, age 20, of Ada, Oklahoma, pled guilty to Bank Robbery.


The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced that Megan Nicole Short, age 20, of Ada, Oklahoma, pled guilty to Bank Robbery.

The charge arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  The defendant was indicted in November, 2011, along with David Jaquonn Cole, age 22, also of Ada. 
 
The Indictment alleged that on Oct. 21, 2011, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, and others, by force, violence and intimidation, attempted to take, and did take, from the person and presence of another, money, namely $153,100.00 in U.S. Currency, belonging to, and in the care, custody, control, management and possession of the Citizens Bank of Ada, a bank whose deposits were then insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

The Honorable Kimberly E. West, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the defendant’s guilty plea and ordered the completion of a presentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled following its completion. 

The statutory range of punishment is not more than 20 years imprisonment and/or up to a $250,000.00 fine.
