Dale’s Lady Pirates required just 2 1/2 innings to blast Maud, 18-1, Thursday at the Stonewall Tournament.

The game was stopped on the 15-run rule.

Dale tallied three runs in the bottom of the first, then sent 20 batters to the plate in the second while scoring 15 runs. Dale combined 13 hits with five errors in the second inning.

Sam Barry of Dale was 3-of-3 with two doubles.

Jaelen Flewallen contributed two triples.

Caitlyn Pitchford and Kensie Stith had a double and a single apiece for Dale. Jade Barnett and Taylor Anderson chalked up two singles apiece.

Dale finished with 16 hits and Maud collected four.

“We hit exceptionally well and they made some errors,” Dale coach Andy Powell said.

Dale, 10-2, will extend its tournament stay at 11 a.m.

today against Kingston. If the Lady Pirates prevail, they will play again at 4 p.m. against the Colbert-Roff victor.
