Class 4A’s ninthranked Tecumseh avenged an earlier 7-4 loss to Byng, dropping the No. 3 Pirates 7-5 Thursday at the McLoud Tournament.

The Savages trailed 4-1 after 4 1/2 innings before cruising ahead 7-4 by the end of the sixth. A Byng rally stalled out after a lone seventh-inning score.

Connor Patton gave up nine hits, tossed 12 strikeouts, plunked one batter and did not issue a base on balls in the complete effort. The win pushes his record to 3-0, and the Savages are now 9-3 going into today’s noon encounter with the OKC Broncos.

Of Tecumseh’s 10 hits, Jordan Colvin swatted a two-run homer and finished with three runs batted in while going 2-for-3. Darien Permetter drove in one run on three singles.
