  • Area golfers Kurstyn Mills of Shawnee and Jordan Humphrey of Bethel have been selected as members of the All-State east team.
    Mills earned her All-State slot after finishing ninth at the Class 5A state tournament at the Lincoln Park East course in Oklahoma City.
    Mills recorded a two-day total of 160 with rounds of 85 and 75.
    Shawnee finished ninth in the team standings. Duncan captured the 5A state championship with McGuinness finishing second.
    Humphrey, participating in the Class 3A state tournament, posted rounds of 82 and 79 for a two-day total of 160 at Fountain Creek course in Eufaula.
    She finished fourth in the Class 3A competition.
    Bethel finished sixth in the tournament, won by Comanche. Idabel was the the runner-up.
    The All-State match will be held Monday, July 23 at Cherokee Hills Golf Club in Catoosa.
