  • Oklahoma Baptist University has added West Valley College pitcher Brandon Willard to its baseball roster for the 2012-13 season.
    Willard, a junior-to-be from San Jose, Calif., was senior of the year and a junior all-league pitcher for Prospect High School. At West Valley, he posted a 1.42 earned run average as a sophomore. His freshman season, he had a 2.55 earned run average and held opposing hitters to a .121 batting average.
    “We are extremely excited about adding Brandon to our pitching staff and our 2012-13 roster,” said OBU associate head coach Chris Klimas.
    “He has been very successful for two seasons as a short reliever at West Valley College, and we anticipate him being a big help on the back end of the bullpen this spring.”
    Willard, who will play for OBU head coach Bobby Cox, will major in kinesiology.
    Softball
    Bay Valley Conference pitcher of the year Hannah Wilbur has signed with head coach Pam Fink.
    The Walnut Creek, Calif., native earned the pitcher of the year distinction while at Solano Community College her sophomore season after posting a 1.37 earned run average. She had 205 strikeouts in 177 2/3 innings of work, while walking 47 for coach Terri Pearson-Bloom’s Falcons.
    Wilbur was 21-7 on the season with seven shutouts and a no-hitter.
    Wilbur, who stands 5-11, was also on the 2012 All-State team and 2011 all-academic team.
    “We’re pretty excited to get Hannah here,” said Fink.
    “She will be a big part of our pitching staff next season.”
    Wilbur played for coach Victor Silva at Acalanes High School, where she was all-academic and part of a co-championship team in addition to being a two-time MVP pitcher award winner.
