Narro — Franklin

Melissa Narro and Carl "Jason" Franklin, both of Seattle, Wash., announce their engagement and upcoming wedding Oct. 19, 2012, at Green Pastures in Austin, Texas.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Nancy and Victor Rosales of McAllen, Texas, and Joe Narro of McAllen.

She earned her bachelor's in criminal justice at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., and her pastry chef certification at Le Cordon Bleu in Seattle.

She is employed with Lisa Dupar Catering and the Fat Hen Italian Bakery, both in Seattle.

The groom-elect is the son of P.J. and Dub Gossett of Shawnee and Carl R. Franklin of Pearland, Texas. He is the grandson of Freddie and Betty Haynes of Earlsboro and the late State Senator Carl C. and Edna Franklin.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. He is currently attending the University of Washington for a master's in mechanical engineering.

He is employed at Boeing Research and Technology in Seattle.
