After throwing 12 warm-up innings at home, Macomb’s Kailin Gregg tossed 10 innings against Wanette Monday as the Lady Hornets earned doubleheader wins of 10-6 and 11-1.
Gregg held the Lady Tigers to four total hits. She struck out a combined 20 batters through both games, and walked six on the day.
Macomb totaled 14 hits as Dakota Dailey went 6-for-6 with three runs batted in. Felicia Cope, Katelyn Alkire, Gregg and Sarina Dixon got a hit apiece in the opener — Dixon with an RBI.
Shania Pace went 2-for-3 in the nightcap, and Gregg went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Alkire drove in two runs on a triple in the second game.
Now 14-10, the Lady Hornets will host a double-elimination district tournament with Allen at 2 p.m. Thursday.
