Lady Wolves finish third
- On the boys’ side, Shawnee’s Tyler Day took ninth with a time of 17:31 as the Wolves finished fifth as a team with 113 points. Deer Creek was the champion at 30, and Anadarko was runner-up at 77.
Shawnee’s Lady Wolves, with 94 team points, finished third Friday at the Dog Pack Run.
Shawnee’s Katelynn Downs, at 13:12, came in 10th, while teammate Sadie Cullison was 19th with a time of 13:22. Lynsey West also finished in the top 20, coming in 19th with a time of 13:27.
There were 73 girls in the varsity competition, and the average time was 13:29. Taking first in the team standings was Plainview at 23, and Carl Albert was runner-up at 66.

Also finishing in the top 20 for SHS was Josh Kalies, who recorded a 15th-place time of 18:02.
There were 69 competitors in the varsity boys’ field.
“We had a good day,” said SHS head coach Mark Heard. “The kids are beginning to put together better race performances. We have a potential to be very competitive.”
Heard praised Kalies with having a “solid effort.”
“We are looking forward to running at home this week,” Heard said. “Crowd support will be big and should propel the kids to PR performances.”
The SHS runners will be at Gordon Cooper Technology Center Saturday. The race will begin at 9 a.m.
