Wesley and Amybeth Mainord of Shawnee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. The couple married Sept. 8, 1962, at the First Methodist Church in Seminole.
Wesley is retired from a long career in the food distribution and manufacturing business and is now serving as mayor of Shawnee. Amybeth is a homemaker, member of P.E.O., Chapter BB, and Hawthorne Club of Shawnee and has been active in a number of civic organizations. They are both elders of the United Presbyterian Church in Shawnee.
They have two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Hossein Ghara of Baton Rouge, La., and Amanda and Donald Reeves of Monroe, La. They have four grandchildren, Jordan Isabella Amirkhani of Canterbury, England, Sophie Osborn Amirkhani of Baton Rouge, Analeise Alden Reeves of Nashville, Tenn., and John Clay Osborn Reeves of Corsicana, Texas.
The family is planning a celebratory trip at a later date.
