Okemah, ranked 10th in Class 2A, received four touchdown runs by Kyle Britt Friday night in a 52-25 District 2A-5 triumph over Meeker.

Okemah, 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the district, led 12-0 after one quarter on Britt TD dashes of 7 yards and 19 yards.

Okemah out-scored Meeker 26-12 in the second quarter for a 38-12 intermission advantage as Britt added a 59-yard scoring dash. Britt closed out his scoring night with a 67-yard dash in the third quarter.

Okemah threw just four passes and completed two for 85 yards but rushed for 385 yards on 33 attempts.

Seth Jones of Meeker had a 6-yard scoring run in the second quarter while teammate Nick Cagle fielded a second-quarter 45-yard TD pass from Jesse Weaver.

Meeker’s final two touchdowns came on a 16-yard run by Dallas Jackson and a 23-yarder by Matt Crum.

Cagle caught four passes for 88 yards as Meeker slipped to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in district play.

Jackson, a junior, led Meeker’s rushing attack with 98 yards and freshman Jake Standlee accumulated 92 ground yards.

Meeker will continue district action next Friday night at Stroud.
