  • Cougars claw past Savages in district test

  • The fourth-ranked Ada Cougars blitzed Tecumseh with a 49-15 first-half barrage en route to a 56-15 District 4A-2 walloping Friday night at Norris Field.
     
    Ada, 5-0 overall, went to 2-0 in the district as John Stout and Wyatt Robson posted three touchdowns apiece.
     
    Stout caught first-half scoring tosses of 22 yards, 65 yards and 56 yards from Robson. Robson was also on the receiving end of a 64-yard touchdown pass and scored on runs of 20 yards and 62 yards.
     
    Ada compiled 466 total yards of offense while the Savages were at 365.
     
    Julian Tramble of Tecumseh scored on a 10-yard first-quarter run and teammate Jennifer Goethe added a 25-yard field goal.
     
    Quarterback Colton Owen scored Tecumseh’s other touchdown on a 25-yard run on the final play of the opening half.
     
    Tramble rushed for a game-high 131 yards on 22 carries. Fellow senior and teammate Aaron Williams added 89 yards on 14 attempts while Owen rushed for 58 yards on 14 carries.
     
    Gage Trahan of Tecumseh caught three passes for 61 yards.
    Tecumseh, 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the district, will continue 4A-2 play next Friday by entertaining McLoud.
