Juan Camacho and Salome Whiteshirt Matanane of McLoud will celebrate their 57th anniversary together with entertainment and dancing.
They were married Sept. 27, 1955, in Oklahoma City.
Juan is from the Island of Guam, where he completed basic training in the Air Force in 1951. He was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas, where he met Salome Whiteshirt while she was a senior at Concho Indian School.
She went to Chilocco Indian School Vo-tech. She is Arapaho from Concho.
Juan is retired from the U.S. Air Force, and Salome is a retired homemaker.
They have traveled to many parts of the world together.
They have six children, 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
