  • After responding to a call about a juvenile problem police arrested, Jerry Dean Sanders, 51, for contributing alcohol to a minor, among other charges, according to police reports.
    Officers responded after neighbors called about a group of juveniles congregating after midnight at 1704 N. Market.
    After arriving at the house, officers saw several juveniles move to the back door and try to escape, according to reports. Four juveniles were apprehended and later returned to their parents.
    Officers found a total of six juveniles who admitted to smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol, according to reports.
    Officers were able to enter the home and search for juveniles who might have been suffering from alcohol poisoning. Once inside were able to observe marijuana in multiple places, and several glasses containing alcohol, according to reports.
    Several juveniles were taken to the hospital to be checked out for alcohol poisoning.
    The marijuana was taken in for evidence, and measured 1.3 grams, according to reports.
    Sanders was arrested for social hosting, which is allowing minors to drink alcohol or use controlled substances within their residence, contributing alcohol to a minor and possession of marijuana.
