  • A Seminole man was killed and his 18-year-old passenger was critically injured in a one-vehicle accident in Seminole County over the weekend.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Parish investigated the crash, which occurred on NS 355, about 308 feet north of County Road EW 121.
Terrance Thompson, 25, died at the scene of that accident from massive injuries, the patrol reported.
Thompson was driving a 1993 Pontiac northbound on NS 355 at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, the report shows.
The vehicle, which departed the roadway on the west side of the road, struck a tree and then rotated and rolled one-quarter turn, according to the trooper's narrative.
His passenger, Felicia Rumbo, 18, Seminole, was pinned in the wreckage more than an hour before being freed by Seminole firefighters using the Hurst tool.
She was transported by Medi Flight helicopter ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where she was admitted in critical condition from multiple injuries. A hospital spokesperson said Monday that Rumbo remained hospitalized in serious condition.
Cause of the collision was listed on the trooper's report as unsafe speed for the type of gravel/dirt roadway.
Trooper Parish from the Seminole/Okfuskee County Detachment was assisted by Trooper Brad Stuteville and Trooper Daniel Martin. The Seminole Police and Fire Departments also assisted at the scene.
