In a narrow vote, the Sooner Athletic Conference softball coaches have picked Lubbock Christian to take the conference title in 2013, according to the preseason coaches’ poll.
Lubbock Christian received four first-place votes and had 34 points in the poll, while Oklahoma City picked up the remaining three first-place votes and ended up with 33 points.
St. Gregory’s finished third in the voting with 25 points.
LCU, OCU and SGU all reached the NAIA Tournament last season with Oklahoma City making it to the finals. The Lady Chaps won the regular season SAC crown and the Stars captured the conference tournament title.
Oklahoma Baptist finished in the middle of the pack with 18 points in the poll, followed by Science and Arts of Oklahoma with 16, Rogers State with 15 and Mid-America Christian with six.
