  • Dana Holgorsen's stay at Oklahoma State was brief. His impact was immense.

Between his offense developing into one of the nation's best and his presence allowing Mike Gundy to be more of a CEO and less of an offensive coordinator, Holgorsen helped the Cowboys take a big step toward their first Big 12 championship.

On Saturday, Holgorsen returns to Stillwater as an opposing coach with West Virginia (5-3, 2-3 Big 12).

Gundy says he never expected Holgorsen would be with the Cowboys (5-3, 3-2) for only 10 months, but that time worked out the best for everyone involved. Holgorsen changed Oklahoma State's offense to fit a down-the-field passer like NFL-bound Brandon Weeden, then used his success with the Cowboys to land his first head coaching job.
