Breck Clark of Dale posted a game-high 28 points while teammates Danielle Dockrey and Lexes Satterwhite finished with 10 apiece. Satterwhite recorded three field goals from 3-point range. Clark hit 12 of her 13 free-throw attempts. Dale was 75 percent from the line at 18-of-25. “We got off to kind of a slow start,” Dale head coach Josh Forsythe said. “Preston is very fast and very athletic. They used a full-court press the whole game. We missed four free throws the first half but it was a good win for us against a good team.” Dale’s boys, under head coach Jeff Edmonson, also opened the season victoriously, 61-53 over Preston. Evan Anderson, who missed much of last season with an injury, led all scorers with 21 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter. Jace Wilkins added 18 points for Dale while teammate Caleb Banks finished with nine points “Preston has a good ball club that was in the state tournament lat year,” Edmonson said. “We took some bad shots but for a first game we played pretty well. It was nice to have Evan back.” Dale led 30-19 at the intermission and 40-32 after three quarters. Preston knocked down four shots from 3-point range in the final quarter.
